UV-VIS Spectrophotometers (UV-Vis-NIR)
In the past, spectrophotometers were primarily developed to measure the absorption of liquid samples. Recently, however, there has been a significant increase in applications measuring the reflectance or absorption of solid samples, such as semiconductors, thin films, glass, or absorbents. In the life sciences, there is a need for high-throughput systems that can rapidly analyze ultra-trace samples with high sensitivity. In the pharmaceuticals industry, instruments must have security and audit-trail features to help with GXP/Part 11 compliance. The Shimadzu UV-1800 boasts the highest resolution in its class, a bright optical system, and a compact design. The instrument can be used either as a standalone instrument or as a PC-controlled instrument; in addition, USB memory can be connected directly to the UV-1800, enabling data for spectra and time-course curves to be displayed and saved with commercial spreadsheet software.
